The son of former Chief Justice of Gilgit Baltistan, Rana Shamim, Ahmad Hassan Rana, who has taken social media by storm through his casual interviews, has announced that he will start his own political party named “Shaan-e -Pakistan” in order to make Pakistan an Islamic country. Welfare state, which he said Prime Minister Imran Khan did not do.
In a chat with reporters, Ahmad Hassan said that for now the party was started on WhatsApp and was a gathering of “like-minded” friends. He added that there was still some time before the party was officially launched.
While answering a question about his ambitions in politics, Ahmad Hassan said his ideal was Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and therefore he had big plans. He added that his party’s manifesto was similar to that presented by Imran Khan. Elaborating on what the manifesto would entail, he said he too wanted to model the country on the state of Medina, where education and healthcare were free.
Ahmad Hassan said Imran Khan failed, but we will respect our manifesto. He added that he had complete confidence in him.
Many reacted to the announcement on social media.

Ahmad Hassan rose to fame when he gave an interview to Shahzeb Khanzada on Geo News following the revelation of his father’s alleged affidavit in an article in The News. In the interview, he told Shahzeb, “I have to go play pool, for which I need my father’s permission. I’m going to ask my wife to ask her permission so I can play pool,” hinting that her relationship with her dad isn’t too friendly.
In another interview with presenter Gharidah Farooqi, he said he was drawn to alcohol and would have been a heavy drinker if alcohol was ‘halal’ (permitted) in Islam.
